They "rumble" pretty bad Jon. Two of the trucks out here ('96 and '01)
both have turn downs under the bed...can't hear yourself think.

Subject: DML: Exhaust exiting under bed - resonance?

My Gibson muffler came apart on me on the way back from the Nats.
Basically it rusted through where the tailpipe connects to the muffler,
and the whole tailpipe section came off. I pulled the tailpipe out
from under the truck just so I can drive it around, and its got
some serious resonance! I'm not sure if I will be trying to weld the
tailpipe back onto the Gibson, replace the Gibson and build a dual
cat-back, or just weld an exhaust turn-down onto the end of the Gibson.

I was just wondering if anyone else out there had an exhaust that ends
under the bed, and if it has any resonance? I thought maybe if I
rotated the turndown 45 degrees or so, it would direct most of the sound
out the side of the truck? But, I wasn't sure so thought I
would check here to see if anyone has any experience with that?

  Thanks!
