Octane/Header Question

I was just curious about certain octanes and new motors. I was told that if
I run, for example, 93 octane in my truck it could damage the valve seals,
or maybe other internal components. Is there any truth to this, or is
someone blowing wind up my butt?

I found a set of truck headers in Summit's catalog, and I would like to get
them. Only thing is, they state that the are for 91-97 Dakotas. They don't
specify whether or not they are for 4 wheel drive models. Is there really a
difference between 2WD's and 4WD's, where headers are concerned? Will these
fit my truck?

Also, I got my truck back on Monday. Truck and owner are now doing fine.
;-) I had $4,500 worth of work done to it, and only paid $64.00. $14.00 for
a NYS inspection, and a $50.00 deductible. That was MUCH better than the
$200 they quoted me when I took the truck in. I have to say thanks to the
guys that helped me out on this one, where as your advice worked, and I
didn't get taken to the cleaners.
