i was able to find the tensioner pulley for $20 at Discount Auto, but they
didn't list the part number for the idler pulley, which means they don't
sell it. i'm going to have to try Autozone or Pep Boys.

I had this exact problem and also thought it was the alternator. It
was the idler pully/tensioner combo. That was a while back and as I
recall it wasn't a cheap item. I believe over $100.
