I don't know if I'd trust a heat gun to tell me internal coolant
temperatures. In any case, there should be a sensor somewhere on your
engine that's connected to your gauge, but since I have no idea what Dak you
have and what engine you're running I can only be vague in my replies.

Subject: DML: Temp Gauge Went Up

Hey guys,

This ever happen to anyone else?

My temerature gauge was pinned yesterday at 260....after only running
for a short time.

I shot the motor, waterpump area, radiator ect with a heat gun and could
only come up with a 195 or so reading.....there must be some relay that
takes the air conditioning system out at hight temps because my
compressor clutch would engage.

I knew it wasn't really running hot so I continued to drive it......shut
it off.....went into the store for 5 minutes or so...came back out,
started it up and the temp gauge went down....and the air was working.
It's been fine since.

I know it wasn't running hot due to the readings on the heatgun....is
there a sender that may have gotten buggy for a bit? BTW....my coolant
leavel is fine.

Bob
