This must be a V-6 issue because I ran my original timing chain to
150,000 miles in my 5.2 motor. The only reason I put a new one in then was
because I was putting a hughes cam in. Anyway the only way to help reduce the
chain stretch/sproket wear is to have a double roller setup with hardened
gears and a good qaulity chain (like a Tsubaki). I know that the progear
4000 series is considered to be one of the best (thats what I put in my 5.2)
but I dont know if they make a set for the V-6 (non sure if it uses the same
as the V-8's).
anyway good luck
