In the state of California, I was ticketed for a loud exhaust note and
asked the CHP did he have a decibel meter. He did not and I could easily
contest the ticket in court based on this issue.
According to the court appointed judge, In order to be considered a loud
exhaust note, there is a threshold level and it must be measured by an
machine and not human ear.
I would contest the issue with the current management and check with DMV
on the how to rectify this problem.
