You can get a new one with gears installed for about $800. What you want to
make sure of is how reputable the installer is. In SoCal we have at least
one that mainly works on differentials and they're good.

any of you guys have any good ideas on how to get a posi-trac rear end in my
truck? i've looked at a few junk yards for a 3.92 rear end off maybe a
wrecked r/t but have been unsuccessful in finding one, not to mention it
would probly be expensive. any ideas would be very helpful. also, i'm not
into ripping apart my rearend or having anybody else (around here) do it for
that matter. i've heard it is a risky thing to do, but if that is by far the
cheapest way i may give it a try. i hear lockers are noisy too, so i'm
hoping to stick with lim-slip. thanks alot.
