I have an EXTANG Classic Platinum and have had no issues like that. I've had
mine for about 3 years (not sure how yours differs from mine).
I will say this though...the customer support is excellent! I had my cover
damaged...sent it to them and they replaced it for free. On my model there
are 3 support bars.......this thing doesn't flap or anything at highway
speeds (70-118mph :-)
