Hi Jason!
First off - dont feel as if you were dumb heh. Everyone that ran
through that pit who came out with mechanical problems ran the same
risks. I really don't think there was any way, anyone could have really
known just how much carnage The Pit had planned for us this year. There
was nothing but minor parts breakage for every prior event.
My opinion would be to do one of the two following things until you
learn if you are going over seas or not.
1) get a junk yard dawg engine and have someone slap it in there. Or
2) Get some economy car, cheap, to use until you do find out about your
assignment.
If you find out you will be staying in the states, if it was my
decision, I might for the stroker just for the hell of ir, and assuming
that option won't leave me eating Ramen Noodels for the next year and a
half.
If thats too pricy, I would go for the 360. As the saying goes,
UPGRADE! - DON'T replace! heheheh
Good luck man, and I hope to see ya again at the BBQ someday!!
