A wheel bearing is a normal maintenance item. I could be wrong, BUT I doubt
any extended warranty would cover it.

As I recall that's a sealed bearing so you can only replace it. $300
for a bearing? Sounds high to me. You have a bumper to bumper warranty
over 36K?
