Yup...it's a minor job for the machine shop and it has a larger bearing
surface (along with much stronger rods) now.

Well, the reason I was asking about the rods was that I dont beleive
there
are any aftermarket 3.9 rods available. I found out the hard way that
the
318 and 3.9 rods are different even though the rods were stamped with
the
same casting number. The 318 rods have about an 1/8in larger seat for
the
bearing on them, thus using a larger bearing and having larger (wider)
journals on the crankshaft. I do beleive Bernd had his v6 cran machined
to
use 318 rods. To me it looks like that would be a worthwhile upgrade
especially in a motor you are gonna be pushing hard.
