Powerlocks & Transmission

Please give me your analysis of these symptoms.

Lock Sypmtoms: a few days ago i noticed the driver
side power lock wouldnt lock driver side only passenge
side. It would work but would fail randomly. I
assumed the motor was damaged. Now the lock doesnt
lock either door but will randomly work for bot on the
UNlocking. The passenger side switch does however
work without failing for both doors lock/unlock. Th
driver side has had work done due to the 2 times my
wondow has been busted to steal my stereo. Could the
wiring be damaged or do those switches deteriorate
over time? Anyone had a similar problem?

Transmission Symptoms: Gears enter rough and/or after
a little kick at times...feels like a lack in power.I
took it to get oil Trans Oil serviced at A+ Trans
Specialists because of the false advertisement of 9.95
for servicing that ended up 27.95. They found brass
filings in the pan and a slight oil leak at the front
of transmission. I was told the Converter needed
replacing as well.
~$325.00 removal and inspection of tranny
~$260 for the converter
~>$800.00 for the whole job of dropping tranny,
inspecting, cleaning filings from small valves, new
converter,and any other parts.
I know trannys are complicated to work on, except I am
on a tight budget, and wanted to know if that price
for the details listed sounds about right or if I am
getting screwed.

anyone with similar experiences or advice please let
me know.
