Jack,
I don't know if your year is electronic or not but see if you can take
up any more slack in the belt. Once they lock, they stay locked as long as
there's tension on them. It sounds like it snapped back and locked itself in
a tension position, not supposed to do that in a fully retracted position.
Jack, you may have to check with the dealer on this one.
