Here at work I found the 2003 vehicle and equipment Specifications catalog
(pdf). The downsized pickup listed is the Dodge Dakota. Shown in the
following four configurations,
206, 3P Downsized pickup, 4WD*
218, 3P Downsized pickup, Extended Cab
220, 3P Downsized pickup, Extended Cab, 4WD
224, 3P Downsized pickup, Extended Cab, 4WD w/Hyrail
* Not sure if this one is a Dak. Everything reads as a Dak but the drawing
with it is looks more like a full size Ford.
Trucks come with V-6, A/C, Auto transmission, AM/FM Radio, Intermittent
wipers, Cruise, Tilt wheel, Full with bench seat, Tinted glass, All season
radials.
This year in the catalog is Cost of Ownership, Cost of unit an average
estimate of Truck, equipment, delivery, local, and state, federal Taxes.
Cost per mile is approximate sum of average fuel and maintenance. And MPG is
average MPG for that configuration.
The data used to support the given figures is complied from vehicle fleet
data and represents system wide averages.
A, Catalog #
B, Units in sample.
C, Cost per unit.
D, Average miles per month.
E, Average MPG.
F, Average total cost per mile
G, Average cost per mile, Maintenance only
H, Empty weight.

224, 71 33,137 2,220 14.1 0.219 0.121 4,945
These numbers are for your comparison only.
I just added the following calculations to the bottom of the spreadsheet
that I keep as a log of gas and maintenance.
These are my numbers
Average MPG, 14.090
Average cost per mile, gas $0.09
Total Gallon so far this year 849.656
Average cost per gallon $1.333
Total Cost for gas so far this year $1,117.01
Total Miles so far this year, 11971.61
I don't keep the cost of maintenance of the spreadsheet. But I might start
in 2003.
