bernd, what's the speed limiter on 5-speed dakotas? i heard from my dealer
that the limit was set according to the engine RPM. thus, the RPM limit in
1st-4th gears was 5,500RPM, and 5th gear was 4,700 RPM.
if that's the case, then my limit is higher that 110, or whatever people
have pushed it too...
also, what is the maximum power that you would recommend for our 5-speed
transmissions before switching over to an NV3500 (or NV3550). i've got the
same AX-15 tranny you've got, and my eventual goals would include some
serious work (when i get some serious money) to the engine. if i push 300+
horsepower, should i look at getting an NV3500 (or NV3550) or a new
rear-end?
