After re-reading your original post, and someone else's response. If it is
a fuel problem, You are running lean, not rich. So a fuel starvation
problem, could be a possibility. A clogged cat can also cause similar
pinging issues. Aside from the pinging, does the truck seem to run ok
powerwise? Down low, up top?

Checking the fuel pressure is easy. There is a test port on the driver side
fuel rail usually. Simply hook up a gauge there (nneds to be able to handle
60 psi +) The stock fuel pressure is right around 49psi.
