My 98 5.2 was sticking in second gear and at 63k miles, I had it flushed
and serviced and it has worked perfectly ever since. I now have 88k
miles and I am about to have it flushed again. Stuff in the pan is
really normal.

Subject: DML: Slow shift from 2nd to 3rd when cold

My problem is in the morning and when I leave work the
first and second shifts from 2nd to 3rd are slower
than normal. When it warms up the problem goes away.
I had the tranny fluid change but not flushed.( I have
not had time to get the tranny flushed yet) There was
not a lot of material in the pan on the magnet.
My question is is it time for a tranny rebuild?
