Subject: DML: Rattling noise in engine compartment when started cold

I am experiencing an intermittent "rattling" noise when I first start my
Dak
on cold mornings. It seems to be coming from the front of the engine
compartment, on the passenger side. I can't tell if it is coming from
an
accessory or the motor itself. The noise is somewhat subtle, and
subsides
with rising outside temps or when the engine warms up - although it can
still be detected. It is most prominent when started cold on a cold
morning. I can find nothing "loose" that would cause this noise.

I'm inclined to think it is not the valve train as the rattle "varies"
at a
steady RPM. I did have my lower intake manifold gasket replaced
recently,
which I believe involves complete and partial removal of the upper
accessories. Perhaps they didn't put things back together quite right.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Jon
