: theres noway its to heavy, its a 2 seater pick-up, with 290hp!!!
Way. :-)
Hmmm, you'd think folks would take my word at face value by now. ;-)
Oh well, I'd be happy to back it up with some facts; read on...

Notice anything conspicuous in its absence from that list? Curb weight!
Even Chevy is touchy about this little piggy. :-) The SSR enthusaists
are sure dissapointed: http://www.ssrinfo.com/news/weight.htm
Ok, I'll get to the point: 4500lbs! For a frame of reference, a fully
loaded 4x4 Dakota QUAD CAB is only 60lbs heavier than the SSR. Hehehehee!
Lets do a few comparisons based on power to weight (lbs/hp):
Suzuki Hayabusa: 2.8 (This one was just for fun)
Viper SRT-10: 6.8 (A genuinely fast car)
Mustang Cobra: 7.8 (pretty quick)
Ram SRT-10: 10.0 (what Chevy *should* have been targeting)
Camaro Z28: 11.3 (what most people consider a fast car)
Mustang GT: 11.8 (what most people consider a fast car)
Chevy SSR: 15.5 (exhibit A)
Silverado 1500: 15.6 (another chevy truck)
Dak R/T: 15.6 (what Chevy was actually targeting) ;-)
Dak CC 5.2l: 16.9 (another Dak for reference)
Dak QC 4x4 4.7l: 18.9 (another Dak for reference)
Kia Sportage: 25.9 (I didn't want a Dak to be at the bottom) :-)
The upshot is that this all show, no go Chebby is gonna get its round
lil' headlights sucked out and handed to it by a number of stock vehicles,
and most modified ones. Gotta love it.
Oink oink! :-)
