The government has made steps in using the CNG type vehicles now. However,
this is not applicable for tactical vehicles.

Maybe her discover was based on the Sphinx (dedicated to

Yep! (And move the "pollution source" from the vehicles themselves to
the electric generators; arguably, the greatest threat to our atmosphere
is Al Gore) ;-)
I heard a great suggestion recently by a caller to a talk show -
I don't recall if it was Rush or a local show, but the suggestion was
that if the gov't wants everyone to start buying these "low emissions"
and electric vehicles, and wants to force manufacturers to build them,
they should take the initiative to convert their own fleets to electric
first. The highway department vehicles, police cars, etc. should all be
electric vehicles. The problem with this of course is that electric
vehicles are horribly ineffective for most uses. Essentially, the gov't
is once again exhempting themselves from their own stupid regulations.
Its bad enough that they're forcing this on us, if they forced it on
themselves first they would at least have a leg to stand on. Instead,
its the same old story; "do as I say, not as I do". Alternate fuel
vehicles will come when the time is right; the gov't is trying to force
it on us before the technology is ready. IMHO, let the market decide!
