Just a guess...a sticky bypass valve in the oil filter??? That might
account for 1/2 quart difference...

Subject: DML: Oil return to pan problem

Has anyone seen an issue with oil returning to the oil pan slowly after
turning off the truck?
I thought i was having an oil burning problem because it seemed i was
always
low on oil . I would check it after getting gas and it would be down
The dealer changed the oil, ran it and checked oil, it was down a
quart.
(they did put 6 quarts).
1 hour later they checked it, was down 1/2 a court. 3 hours later was at
the
full line.
This was found after they did all of the compression and leak down
tests.

Any idea's?
