IMHO, the cobra was (and still is) one of the "sexiest" cars on the road.
It wasn't designed to have creature comforts like that, it was designed to
be a no frills "balls to the wall" race car you could drive on the street.
They had terrible tempers, they would overheat and vaporlock all the time,
they were unreliable, were very loud, and road very harshly. However, when
they ran, they ran like all hell. That's what the car was built for.

On a side note....I've been saving money each month since my 16th bday (I'm
22 now) to purchase one of the glass bodied kits offered from shelby
american, and I'm pretty close to being able to afford one now. The only
thing that's stopping me is that I'm going to be buying a house next year
and I may need to dip into that money for a down payment. But to own a
shelby built replica with a sweet-sounding 427 under the hood mated to a
4-speed....that is what it's all about. Yes sir...American muscle in its
purest form.
