Yeah, but when buying a house isn't that what the inspection is for? As
long as it passed inspection or you, or the previous owner, took care of
what was found you should be fine.

OTOH Adam, if there's a fire and you're found to not be within code, you

will probably not get your insurance claim fulfilled (or at least you
won't get as much as you should). If everything is up to coded and has
been inspected, you're in a much better position.
