Talking to Mike Beaty on the DiRT list, he says the Chevy bed to Dodge is a
bit more work than just minimal mods. He had to section the sides to get the
body lines to work between the cab and the bed. He also claims to be the
first person to mate this bed to a Dodge as he did it as soon as he got his,
then new, 94 Ram home.
Now, there is someone who makes a fiberglass bed that is installed by
several of the conversion companies and they call it a Ram Side.

I know in 96 there was an extremely
limited number of stepside beds produced by dodge (about 100 I think) for
the 96 ram. I think there was a picture of one in a truckin' mag from about
97-98 if you keep your subscriptions from that long ago. (I remember it
being red) For the most part, the rams out there with the stepside beds have
transplanted chevy beds on them, as the chevrolet bed is roughly the same
dimensions as the ram's and only minimal modification is required.
