Last time I blew up my 8.25" was with Nitrous and a Supercharger (10#
Boost). We had the truck dyno'd at 281RWHP and well over 380RWTQ -
Yes...on a V6 5/spd. ;)
I've since switched to the aftermarket DANA 8.25" and it's capable of
handling much more than the factory Mopar unit.

Subject: DML: power numbers
hey everybody...
along the way, i've been considering what i would need to fully develop
a killer V6 Dakota. now, i won't be making any major mods anytime soon,
but i am looking at what i can do down the road (as well as any special
deals that may come up).
with that said, does anyone know the maximum power that an 8 1/4 rear
end can handle? i am not sure exactly what i am going to put through
the rear end, but if i end up really bulking the engine up, i want to
know if i should look for a 9 1/4.
also, does anyone know the maximum power numbers that the AX-15 can
handle? i'm reluctant to pick up a shifter if i will have to change the
tranny out for an NV3500 down the road.
again, i need the numbers (preferably out of some manual or proven
numbers). i REALLY want to keep this truck matching #'s, so its very
important to me to keep these original components, but i'm more
concerned with making something that will hold up to the power i'll end
up putting down on the floor.
thanx,
Gabe Couriel
