   I would be wary about going 10K without an oil change, except 
maybe with a good quality synthetic and with very easy driving 
conditions.  Even if the filter is 100% effective at filtering out
the dirt, the additives and such in the oil get "used up".  Dirt in
the oil is not the only reason for changing it.
