Yes, our dummy lights come on with approx 6 gallons left in the tank.
Knowing that, I have been known to estimate the mileage and run the tank
down to just over a gallon left. It is very nerve racking driving with that
light on, but that's why it is there :)

How many gallons? My book tells me I have a 22 gallon tank, but I can't
seem to get more than 16 to go into it even if I drive 'til the light comes
