Yes it would fit and it does work.

Ignorant BSTD at AutoZone.

I see this all the time when I ask a question on a part. The first thing
out of there mouth. "..for which car and year?" Did I say car, I said part
XXXXXXX by XXXXXXXX manufacture. Not bright individuals.

Subject: DML:HELP??!! 99 vs 2000 thermostat p/n's

I went this morning to autozone to get me a robertshaw thermostat for my
2000 3.9L V6
(p/n gt755-180 per the DML archives) When I got there the guy looked up my
truck on his computer just to make sure and it said to get a
806-195(autozone kind), I understand about the last 3#'s being the temp but
what about the first? The 806 is about 1/4" smaller diameter than the gt755.
He looked up a 99 v6 and it did come up with the gt755. So I guess my
question is what changed from 99 to 2000? and will the gt755 fit?

   Thanks,
    Josh (00 3.9L 4x4)
