So whatever it says at idle should show me the timing that's programmed
into the computer. Should I wait for the truck to be in CL or OL?

Thanks

"Base" timing at idle will fluctuate slightly....most scanners will show
it though.

I'm diagnosing the truck and wanted to know if it is possible to get to
the base timing that is set in the PCM via the DRBIII. I just want to
see what it is set at.

Thanks
