Gotta believe in what you saw with your own eyes. If I had only heard that
from Marty though, I'd have to consider that he is, after all, trying to
sell a product. :-)

Well, *that alone* doesn't convince me that virtually all OEM magnum heads
have a problem. There were only a handful of people posting over and over
and with only a couple exceptions all the info was hearsay. You can read
on other forums about cracking in big block heads and in small block LA
heads. Of course it happens, just not buying into the hype that they're
all bad and only aftermarket ones are good.

I appreciate that but where's the evidence that MP R/T heads won't
experience cracking after several year of use. I know they flow well but
they do have their own share of problems. The guy I bought a used set of
heads from had problems with pushrod clearance on his new R/T heads. When
he posted that on one of the forums, several people said they experienced
the same thing. Not a difficult fix but frustrating to find out *after*
you've bolted them on.

You know, it's getting real tough to decide on how to go about a 408
buildup. I'm certainly not impressed with any of Mopar Performance's
castings. I have 2 of their M1 MPI manifolds and both look like crap
compared to Edelbrock. I've also looked at all their magnum heads and again
I'm not impressed with the casting quality. Yes, they can be massaged but
for what they cost we just shouldn't have to spend more to correct them.
