well this morning coming in to work the tranny start whining real bad and
slipping. i finally made it to work doing about 20 mph at 3k rpms. it has
been towed to a local multistate transmission shop. i was actually going to
take it in on wednesday. it went prematurely... i had it quoted yesterday
at $1200 for a basic rebuild with torque converter, shift kit, and so on...
he said the worse he has seen was $1800... so hopefully it's not that bad.
i've never had tranny work done. so i didn't know where to go... the shop
was real clean and professional. i'm stopping by after work to check it out
more. should be a day or so... just gives me more reason to get the 95
out... i am almost done with the power windows and locks. another week or
two and it will be ready...
