Well, it was 1975...so in today's dollars, that is like $900,000....(just
kidding)

That story sounds oddly familiar, except at $289, you got off WAAAAYYY
cheap...

Are you guys talking about going fast on bikes? LOL. I got a ticket AND
thrown in jail in Broward County Florida in 1975 for doing 131 on I-95. I
had never ridden one of the Kawasaki 900s and some guy told me to try it
out, (strictly a Harley guy). Damn, I had no idea I was going like that.
Blew right through a radar at Sheridan Street, it was NOT pretty. I just
went ahead and pulled over. I had my license out when the guy came sliding
in his Plymouth. He was all pissed, (the State Trooper). He said, "I
cannot even write a ticket like that." I said, "Great, I promise I won't do
that again." He said, "hell no, your ass is going straight to jail."
10 days $289 later, I was free again. Damn, my first wife did not think it
was funny and did not post bail. Needless to say, I had no choice, I had to
divorce her after that. Ahhhh, the days of stupidity did not seem that long
ago.
I did race in the 250 Novice Division at Daytona on a 250 Yamaha in 1973
though..have no idea how fast but I do remember needing to change my
underwear after the race, (finished 11th).

I've been to 149 "verified", and seen higher, indicated... but then I am an
idiot...

I've done 140 on a bike several times and that was way faster then it needed
to go. If you do 186 hope there aren't any lone peebles on the road. At 140
I hoped there weren't either. Freaky tunnel vision you get at that spped
too.
