Poorer gas mileage? I've use Ravin, Flowmaster, Dynomax, MagnaFlow,
Borla, and the JBA/K&N brand...all showed the same mileage - noise
levels...well that's a whole other issue.

I've found the Magnaflow Performance muffler a good choice.
see- thru, with acoustic liner, stainless. Not as much noise as Flow
Master or Walker Dyna Max. Greater performace but poorer gas mileage.
