I would have said bad float bowl needle valve, but since you replaced the
carb....

Kohler 15.5hp lawn tractor. First it would spew gas out the muffler on
start up, but then run OK. A couple of months later it would blow white
smoke after start up. Now it starts like it has a vapor lock. Once it
kicks over it runs for 40 seconds then stalls with gas flooding air cleaner.
Compression check 90 lbs. Replaced carb. Did not change problem.
Any idea what's wrong and how to test it?
