do i have to remove the distributor for belly pan??

well i have come to the conclusion that it is my belly pan gasket. tomorrow
i'm getting the kit from the dealer. saturday is the planned day for the
fix. i am reading through all the info that i have. everything says to
remove the cap and wires. does this mean just the actual cap or the whole
distributor. i guess i'll find out when i get there... any suggestions on
the whole job??
