The '95 is a different version of the 2.5, it was a jeep specific 2.5 engine
used in various Jeep models and Dakota's..........in '96 a Dodge 2.5 Magnum
was introduced which is what's in your '97......both are totally different
engines.........the '96 and and up models are rated at 120hp, while the '95
and earlier were only 99hp.
The biggest change was that the '95 and older were mitsubishi design and the
'96 and up were based on the
Jeep 4.0.......I doubt one will bolt in place of the other and the wiring is
totally different as well......
