From the comments I've seen so far, Tenafly Chrysler Jeep seems
to be about the cheapest place to get new parts - they list 2 oil
pans for '87 Daks, one for $76 and another for $84; I'm not sure
which one he would need since they don't specify, but you can check
it out at http://www.tenaflyjeepmoparparts.com/
www.oem-car-parts.com (Advance Auto Parts / Parts America) shows a
reman oil pan for the '87 Dakota 4cyl for $81, plus a $25 core charge.
www.autozone.com shows an oil pan (I believe this is a reman also)
for $53, plus a $25 core charge - you can order it on-line or at
any Autozone.
So it looks like they are available - if you are looking for
something cheaper, another option might be to try an on-line salvage
yard. Several links to such places can be found in the DML FAQ at
http://www.dakota-truck.net/faq/General/used_parts.html
Personally, I'd probably go for the $53 pan at Autozone; after
you add in shipping, you probably won't get a used one much cheaper
from a salvage yard, and you get a 1 year warranty on the reman.
Hope this helps!
