My '98 has an amplifier between the head unit and the speaker, but the
speaker
itself looks to be a normal speaker, no extra power leads. the amplifier is
"controlled"
by the power antenna lead from the radio. I'm going to try and swap a
speaker, maybe
next week, I think my daughter blew one out in the driver's side door. I'll
let you know
how it works out
