I have a Rancho brush guard on my 98 SLT and have no problems opening the
hood.

I don't have any firsthand experience but a co-worker had a Durango for
a short time with a Manik guard on it. The grille piece did scrape the
guard but I can't speak to whether it was installed properly in the
first place.

I would assume that with the number of people using them, the clearance
should be fine else you'd hear about it.
