For plain old rtv the answer is no. The stuff that was on your intake is
called "the right stuff". It is a suitable replacement for non boosted
applications. I have never had any of the manifolds sealed with it leak on
me. I have been running it as the plenum gasket on my built and nitroused
3.9 for awhile now. Jon smith (former dml'r) uses it as the plenum gasket
on all of his mod'd intakes as well. If you need it reapplied since you had
it all scraped off to coat it,send me back the intake and I'll redo it.
