Just curious----in re the clear coat peeling on your hood and cab top:
Do you keep your truck in a garage or some sort of enclosure overnights
or does it sit out?
Do you drive it daily or at least 5 out of 7 days a week year around?
Have you kept it washed before a lot of dirt and grime have built up?
Have you used a good brand of car polish at least annually that includes
any necessary "finish restorer" product to remove minor paint (clear coat)
deterioration?
Do you live in a part of the country where 4 real weather seasons are
normal?
If you'd be good enough to reply I'd like to compare your "saga" with mine
