On all my vehicles for years I've checked the adjustment on my rear drums
each time I rotate the tires which is every 3rd oil change (9,000 mi). With my
kind of driving that usually means 4-6 clicks per back wheel at those
intervals. This way the rear brakes never get seriously out of adjustment and the
parking brake which is very important in the hilly terrain where I live remains
strong too
