Ok I've yanked the IAC and cleaned it off. Same
conditions as before. I know see physically the
problem is on the side of the throttle body where the
linkage is, the shaft doesn't want to rotate back
after accelerating. It wants to stay in place but of
course you can physically push it back. None of the
wires to the plate that mounts to this shift seem
broken or snagged. This is an F&B throttle body,
appears to be 2 springs that sit on the butterflies
shaft (I know I'm screwing up all the nomenclature
here, but I'm at work without a manual trying to
trouble shoot this before leaving work to drive 10
hours south to a funeral so I'm a little excited about
getting this done). I've tried to loosen an allen
head screw at the end of this shaft where the springs
are thinking they are binding up somehow but it
doesn't help. Maybe it's the TPS on the other end of
this shaft that isn't returning far enough?
I'm debating if I should even take this to the dealer.
I have my stock throttle body in storage. Hmm.
Thanks for all the replies so far guys!
Mark
