i'll probably just trade it in. my neighbor offered his help to install the
thing, and recommended the pep boy's alternator. he's a diesel rig
mechanic, so i trust his installation abilities. i'll probably do the job
some time this week or next. however, i'm definitely ordering the
underdrives. Josh, go to summit, and they are part number ASP-504500. they
are about $51 for the crank pulley. if you call them, they'll tell you $80,
but i was able to find it online for only 51 (and i have a $20 off coupon
i'll be using next week for it). oh, and there's a $7.00 handling charge on
summit orders.

gabe, if you do get stuck with a dead alternator, let me know. I want to
take the casing and powder coat it. Then i'll throw the guts from my good
alternator inside.
