I did mine myself. If I remember right, this is the external sensor that
goes into the housing of the transmission. I did it without even draining
my trans fluid.

Use a deep socket (forgot what size) but it needs to be deep enough to go
over the end of the sensor like a spark plug socket. Make sure you have the
new one handy. Oiling up the gasket with trans fluid will stop leaks (I
learned the hard way).

When you take the sensor out, you will loose a liitle fluid. Depending on
how quick you are (I lost about 1/d quart) you won't lose much.

Reset the computer and your shifting would be solved.
