Thanks Josh and Gary. I passed your suggestions on to my friend. He
bought the products Gary mentioned, no word on whether he's attempted
yet. Not sure how much he's willing to risk (he knows less than I about
this stuff, and I know almost nothing) before he resigns himself to the
body shop.
