Chris,
You can use Silicon Carbide grinding stones/wheels to grind alum. Since
alum. is a non-ferrous metal the stones on that you will find on the Dremel
site will work just fine. Here is the link to the grind stones page.

Also the idea of using sanding drums that Mike M. suggested will work good.
Unfortunately you can't get into tight areas with the sanding drums. Any
method you use to grind will still require polishing afterwards.
