I added about 1 pound to the system. This afternoon it was
down again far enough that the compressor went back to
cycling on and off. I'm going to take it to a mechanic
soon to try and find where the leak is.
To the other poster, I did in fact read the label and put
in R-134a like the system said. Not in my nature to do
something stupid to my baby. :)
The label said the system should have 2lbs when it's full,
so my guess is I'm losing about a pound worth out of the
system in a 24 hour period, then the leaking stops? Is it
possible that the leak only happens when the system is
fully pressurized, but when it's half pressurized the leak
doesn't really surface?
All things that I'll find once I get the dakota on a
professional air
conditioning machine thingie. Time for a fix and a
purge/refill I
think..
After I added more to the system this evening, the air
conditioner
seemed quite cooler than it was yesterday. Maybe it's
just a
frame-of-mind thing..
Thanks guys,
Pete
