sorry to be the voice of reason, but the only thing we have heard is an
unsubstantiated rumor, which started something like "i heard that DC was
selling the Dakota to Mitsubishi."

sorry, but show me the article, or some proof.

Actually, DC owns a large interest in Mitsubishit.... remember the whole
DiamondStar merger before Daimler "merged" with Chrysler?? I know
Mitsubishit made the Dodge Avenger...there were Mitsubishit stickers all
over the engine compartment and in the door frames. The car was a total
POS, my mom traded hers in after only 42,000 miles (but the car was a
pleasure for me to do stupid stuff with).

Mitsubishit has the assembly plants to push a lot of cars out, and if DC
lets them build the dakotas, Mitsubishit can pump a lot more out in a verry
efficient and cost effective manner. They'll probably change the chasis in
order to have more vehicles be able to be built off it, but thats the way
the industry is going.

I just wonder how soon mitsubishit will begin making them.
