That's good thinking there Craig, however Fram filters blow goats (technical
term). I think it was the guy on the minimopar site (running the 10 second
k car) that cut a bunch of them open to see what they were all about. His
findings as well as those studies done by others in the automotive world
have determined that Fram filters have the filtering abilities of about a
sheet of notebook paper. Perhaps I'll pick one up and do a little
comparison myself. Mobil1 filters have been increasingly hard to find
around me (especially the M1-204 size) so I've been forced to use the K&N
for a little more money.... One of these days I might just feel ambitious
enough to actually pick up a bunch of filters and cut 'em open to see for
myself.
